Jargon Is Now on Google Play and F-Droid

After a few weeks in closed testing and distribution review, Jargon is now available on Google Play and F-Droid.

Jargon is my free and open-source Android reader for the Jargon File: more than 2,300 entries that document the language and culture of early computer hackers. You can browse alphabetically, search terms and definitions, follow cross-references, save favorites, or use “Surprise me” to open a random entry.

Still entirely offline

Moving to a production release has not changed what matters about the app. The entire dictionary ships with Jargon, so every feature works offline. It has no accounts, ads, analytics, telemetry, or network access. What you read and favorite stays on your device.

The source remains available under GPLv3, and the dictionary content keeps its own CC BY-SA license.
